On 1st November the insolvent automotive supplier
Nier GmbH, with production locations at Hohenlockstedt and Remscheid,
was sold by the insolvency administrator Dr. Klaus Pannen, a partner
of White & Case Insolvenz GbR, to the Vollmann Group in Gevelsberg.
The 340 jobs at Nier GmbH, which is involved in
the field of sheet metal forming and specialises in the production
of components for companies in the automotive industry, could therefore
be saved.
Since his appointment as insolvency administrator
for the assets of Nier GmbH in October of last year, Klaus Pannen
has directed the necessary restructuring measures and has carried
on the business operations of the automotive supplier without restriction.
"I am pleased that it has been possible to integrate
Nier GmbH into a financially sound group of companies following
these reorganisational measures. In addition to the certainty that
all jobs will be saved, I have been impressed with the Vollmann
Group's model for taking the business forward," explains insolvency
administrator Klaus Pannen.
The Vollmann Group, based at Rosendahler
Straße 98 in Gevelsberg, employs around 320 workers and produces
components and assemblies at four locations in Germany. Its main
clients are from the automotive supply industry, the lighting industry
and the telecommunications industry.
Managing Director Axel Vollmann has the following
to say on the new acquisition: "Nier GmbH
complements our strategic orientation towards the automotive sector,
particularly through outstanding expertise in the field of precision
stamping and deep drawing using press units with a press capacity
of greater than 500 t."
