The Vollmann Group and the Heitkamp & Thumann Group have agreed to take over the operative companies of Westfalia Metal Components. The transaction was completed on July 1, 2021.
The sale includes Westfalia Presstechnik GmbH & Co. KG in Crimmitschau, Germany, and Westfalia Metal Components s.r.o. in Hustopeče in the Czech Republic. The Vollmann Group has therefore once again extended its manufacturing capacity and its product portfolio.
Axel Vollmann, CEO and shareholder of the Vollmann Group: “Our group of companies has grown considerably in Germany and Eastern Europe in the last few years”. We would have had to make comprehensive investments in presses with pressing force from 800 to 1600 tonnes for other new orders which have recently been received, particularly for the e-mobility area. The acquisition of Westfalia Metal Components with its plants in Crimmitschau (Saxony) and Hustopeče (near Brünn in the Czech Republic) was the ideal alternative to these investments in our plants in Erzgebirge and Planá nad Lužnicí in the Czech Republic. As a large pressing plant, the facility in Crimmitschau also gives us the option of using presses with pressing force of more than 2000 tonnes.”
